Track Work in Eastern Switzerland

A variety of track work stemming from a single source: SRS is currently working on three different construction projects. These are underground drainage, track crossing, and track renewal. In spring 2021, the Swiss railway infrastructure company is fulfilling three orders from the Swiss Federal Railways AG (SBB). The track work will take place in Uzwil and Heerbrugg in the canton of St. Gallen, and in Bischofszell in the canton of Thurgau.

In May, a new underground drainage system 120 metres long will be constructed in Heerbrugg (Heerbrugg SG W1). In Uzwil, in eastern Switzerland, SRS railway infrastructure experts are installing the track by using a 100-metre-long Ribbert (Uzwil SG W36). And that’s not all: In Bischofszell, the civil engineering specialists from Olten are installing a track crossing and a 220-metre-long underground drainage system (Bischofszell Nord W3).

This work is being carried out by SRS crews, who have been joined by SPITZKE employees from the Buchloe branch since March. The fourth SBB project is already in the making. In September, around 200 metres of track drainage will be installed in Niederglatt, in the canton of Zurich. With these orders, SRS is proving that it can implement other high-quality services in addition to long-term maintenance work.
